About the three characters of Gu Yuxi:

Gu: Originating from the Symbol of Wisdom and Strategy, Guiguzi

The character “Gu” in my name comes from “Guiguzi.” Now, who was Guiguzi? Imagine a legendary sage from over two thousand years ago, a mysterious figure who resided deep in the mountains.

He was a brilliant strategist, a keen observer of human nature, and a master communicator. You could consider him the ancient “system architect” of human interaction and strategic thinking.

His students went on to become some of the most influential figures in Chinese history, skilled in everything from military command to diplomacy. Guiguzi’s wisdom is like understanding the underlying algorithms of human behavior and societal dynamics – a timeless and incredibly relevant field.

Yu: Echoing the Courageous and Powerful Physique, Xiang Yu

The character “Yu” is associated with Xiang Yu, the “Hegemon-King of Western Chu.” Xiang Yu was a powerful and charismatic military leader, a figure possessing immense strength and unwavering determination.

While his story also carries a tragic element, his name symbolizes courage, ambition, and the will to strive for one’s goals. In the context of my website, this “Yu” represents the drive to explore complex systems, the courage to confront intellectual challenges, and the use of bold and innovative methods to analyze ancient knowledge – much like employing powerful “processing capabilities” to decode intricate information.

Xi: Embracing the Hope for Future Understanding

The character “Xi” signifies “hope.” For me, it represents the optimistic vision of connecting ancient wisdom and modern technology. I believe that by applying the logical frameworks of computer science, we can gain fresh perspectives on these profound traditional disciplines.

It’s about unlocking the hidden patterns and insights within TCM, Metaphysics, and ancient philosophy, making them more accessible and applicable in our contemporary world.

It’s about the exciting potential of “debugging” ancient knowledge with modern tools to discover new and valuable applications.

About the logo of Gu Yuxi:

This logo was designed by me many years ago. At that time, I had no design background or skills. My idea was to make it as simple as possible, not too complex, but still able to fully express what I wanted to convey. After designing it, I liked it very much and immediately applied for copyright protection.
The initial concept was: using a soft light green as the background, symbolizing vigorous vitality and lush nature, with its element belonging to wood in the Five Elements, implying growth and extension, representing my exploration and innovation of traditional Chinese wisdom.

The center of the design features a set of stacked triangles, resembling ascending steps, signifying a gradual and continuously improving growth process, symbolizing the principles of our learning, and also echoing the learning philosophy of being logical and emphasizing practical feedback.
The blue triangle on the far right of the pattern symbolizes the broad yet ignorant vision of a beginner, like looking up at the sky. As learning deepens and understanding improves, the vision expands, growing into the middle blue, signifying a clearer and more profound cognition. Ultimately, reaching a higher level, it manifests as a mysterious purple, symbolizing the wisdom of discerning the essence of things and unique insights that are unconventional and rare.

Below the logo is my name. The three Chinese characters “谷羽希” at the top are written in a fluid and slightly artistic calligraphic style. Below it, it is marked with the Pinyin “GU YU XI,” which avoids common English names and, to some extent, retains the charm of Eastern culture.

About the website of Gu Yuxi:

About me:

Hello, I’m Gu Yuxi, born in Guangdong, China. From a young age, I’ve been driven by a deep curiosity about the unknown.

As I grew, I immersed myself in the boundless possibilities of the computer world, while also being profoundly drawn to the richness of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Xuanxue Shushu (Metaphysical Arts and Numerology), and Zhuzi Baijia (Philosophies of the Hundred Schools).

Here, I aim to interpret traditional culture through the lens of “computational thinking,” sharing my research, insights, and reflections through both writing and video.

My Research and Vision
Bridging Computers and Tradition
In my view, computer technology and traditional culture are not opposing forces but can illuminate each other.

The widespread adoption of open-source principles on platforms like GitHub enables developers worldwide to collaborate and innovate.

Remarkably, over two millennia ago, during the Eastern Han dynasty, Zhang Zhongjing embodied this “open-source” mindset by authoring the Shanghan Zabing Lun (Treatise on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases). Each of its case analyses resembles a line of executable code—inputting symptoms yields a complete prescription.

Sharing and Dissemination
I have a passion for writing and enjoy being on camera. Whether through an accessible article or an engaging video, I strive to use real-life examples and technical perspectives to elucidate the pathways of Traditional Chinese Medicine, unveil the mysteries of numerology, and interpret the philosophies of the Hundred Schools. My goal is to bring millennia-old wisdom into modern life, helping individuals enhance their health and cognitive understanding.

My Expertise and Experience
Computer Technology: With a strong appreciation for computer science, I embarked on self-learning programming and gradually became proficient with modern open-source tools and platforms. In the future, I plan to develop automated workflows, data visualizations, and AI applications.

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Xuanxue Shushu: I have systematically studied classical texts, practiced formula-based treatments, and integrated modern scientific thinking to reconstruct the logical framework of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Zhuzi Baijia: Combining literary acumen with historical philosophical research, I explore how various schools of thought can be applied to contemporary life and decision-making.
